The
secret of life: It isn't what happens to you that matters most,
but rather what you do about what happens to you.
|
Life
continually places demands on us. We utilize resources, e.g.;
time, mental abilities, emotional energy, physical capability,
or finances to meet those demands. We also acquire "tools",
such as information, skills, and techniques that enable us
to more successfully handle life's demands.
|
 |
|
Our
experience of stress is directly related to our ability to minimize
the impact of demands on our resources while achieving what we believe
to be the best possible outcome for each situation. Therefore, we
create a stressful experience if we don't see ourselves handling
life's demands successfully. We reduce stress when we acquire the
ability to achieve successful outcomes.
|
When
we think anxiously about the future we forfeit the present moment,
and thus, we don't experience the fullness that life has to offer
us right now or in the future.
|
It
is our hope and dreams that makes us great. By pursuing our dreams
we transform ourselves -- we become co-creators of who we are, our
lives, and our destiny. Click here to see an outline of my workshop
on Stress Management.
